CHANGES: NAR Code of Ethics Requirement
To fulfill the NAR Code of Ethics requirement through a CE course, those courses and equivalencies must be provided by a local, state, or national REALTOR® association.
This means that you must take a qualified ethics course (ex. Business Ethics, Code of Ethics & Enforcement, Ethics in RE) through a REALTOR® association or it will not fulfill your NAR Code Ethics Cycle 7 requirement.
Note: The NAR Code Ethics requirement is a separate requirement from your NMREC licensing ethics requirement.
- Courses must include content on professional conduct, courtesies, business etiquette, and real-life scenarios.
- Only those courses and equivalencies provided by a local, state, or national REALTOR® association can satisfy the Code of Ethics training requirement. The Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) endorsement satisfies the requirement. Local associations may, however, partner with a third-party training provider to create a course that satisfies the requirement.
- Download a comprehensive implementation chart for these changes (PDF 128.79 KB).

(Please note: If you have taken the Code of Ethics with another entity besides the NAR online Code of Ethics listed above, you will need to provide your certificate of completion to CARNM for updating your NAR record.)
