CCIM Deal Making Sessions
The first Wednesday of each month from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m., the local CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) chapter hosts a marketing meeting, open to all CARNM members. The meetings are hosted a venue location or virtually via Zoom. These meetings offer a great opportunity to hear about new properties on the market and to network with other commercial real estate professionals.
LIN Marketing Meetings
LIN is a networking forum for those involved in leasing commercial real estate. The meetings are hosted by brokers at different commercial properties or virtually via Zoom, on the third Wednesday of the month from 8:00 -9:00 a.m. and door prizes are provided. The host buildings are usually vacant and available for lease, giving the building wonderful exposure to 60-70 active leasing brokers in the community and allowing them to tour the inside and visualize the space for potential tenants. CARNM members make brief presentations of properties for lease, changes in properties are announced, thank you’s are given to brokers who have worked cooperatively on recent deals, and periodically there are guest speakers.

Legislative & Advocacy
At the statewide level, CARNM works with NMAR toward legislation that promotes and encourages a strong and healthy real estate market in New Mexico. In 2014, we achieved some major accomplishments to that end: Foreign Broker Bill and Commercial Broker Lien Bill are now law!
Commercial Real Estate Broker Lien Act allows real estate brokers to file a lien against property for leasing commissions owed by the owner of the property if the owner had a written agreement with the real estate broker to pay leasing commissions.
Real Estate Foreign Broker Act amends legislation to add a definition of commercial real estate and allows out of state brokers to practice commercial real estate activity in New Mexico, provided they enter into a transaction-specific written agreement with a New Mexico licensee.
