What’s next for the City of Vision?
The Society for Marketing Professional Services’ New Mexico chapter is hosting an event that asks that question. Topics include opportunities for construction, architecture and engineering and the prospect for future anchor tenants.
Matthew Geisel, the business relations and conventions and visitors bureau manager for Rio Rancho, along with Scott Sensanbaugher, the city’s director of public works are scheduled to speak.
There are a couple big commercial projects going on in Rio Rancho right now.
La Vida Llena is in the midst of building a new $50 million continuing care retirement community with more than 200 units on 12 acres in the Loma Colorado community. And Presbyterian is building an $80 million six-story patient tower with 120 beds and eventually a 21,500-square-foot cancer center at Rust Medical Center.
There are other smaller but nonetheless significant projects too, like developerJeanie Springer-Knight’s Unser Pavilion. And on the edge of the city there is, HME Specialists’ new 37,000-square-foot building on 3.5 acres at the southwest corner of Golf Course Road and Westside Boulevard.
The city has taken some hits too, with Hewlett-Packard doing some “job shuffling,” at its call center, going from about 1,350 jobs to 800. Speculation about Intel’s future has been a focus lately too.
The event takes place July 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Seasons Rotisserie & Grill, located at 2031 Mountain Road NW in Albuquerque. Contact Kate Potter of Contract Associates by phone at (505) 881-8070 or via email at katep@contractassociatesnm.com for registration options.
