On Monday, April 27th, Albuquerque becomes home to the tenth 2030 District established in the World!
An official charter signing and press event will be held at 3:30 pm, Monday, April 27th, at 115 Gold Avenue, SE. Architecture 2030 founder Ed Mazria will be present to sign the official charter agreement with Albuquerque’s Foundation for Building, the fiscal agent and sponsoring organization for our local 2030 District initiative.  The City of Albuquerque’s Mayor Berry and Diane Dolan will also speak at this event about its significance to our city.  Space is extremely limited at this venue, so please RSVP to Albuquerque@2030districts.org if you are interested in being present.
A public, celebratory happy hour will follow at 5pm on Monday 4/27 At Ibiza rooftop bar, Hotel Andaluz. Please join us!
The future is looking bright!
What is this initiative all about?
Albuquerque’s 2030 District is a private sector-led effort utilizing collaboration, incentives, shared resources, and unique public-private partnerships to promote the development of high-performance buildings and a more healthy, livable city of the future.  Read more on our ABOUT page.
The video below features the inspiring scene at our first public exploratory meeting, held last quarter.  Thank you, Albuquerque for your enthusiasm and support!  If you would like to get the invitation to the next community gathering, please email Albuquerque@2030districts.org to be added to our contact list.  Cheers!

Congress passes "Tenant Star" Legislation

April 21, 2015 by mcarristo

On Tuesday, April 21, the House of Representative passed S.535, the “Energy Efficiency Improvement Act of 2015.”  More commonly known as the “Tenant Star” bill, it was sponsored by Senators Portman (R-OH) and Shaheen (D-NH) in the Senate, where it was passed in late March.  Once signed into law, the Energy Efficiency Improvement Act of 2015 will establish the “Tenant Star” program, a voluntary, market-driven approach to aligning the interests of commercial building owners and their tenants to reduce energy consumption and save money.
On April 9th, NAR joined a coalition letter with other industry groups urging the House to take up S. 535 and quickly pass it.  It has been sent to the President where it awaits his signature to be enacted into law.
